Glossary of Terms

Key Terms  -  Describe and Explain the Meaning of each term, give examples where appropriate.                                                                                
Video Formats (e.g. mov, avi) - Video formats are different layers of video transmission and storage. There are several types of video formats. AVI, short for Audio Video Interleave is the file format for Microsoft’s video for windows standard.

Streaming - Streaming is a simple way of viewing or listening to things live on the internet without having to wait for the file to fully download before you can view or hear it.

File Compression - File Compression is commonly used when sending a file from one computer to another over a connection that has limited   bandwidth (the range of frequencies used for transmitting a signal).
The compression makes the file smaller allowing it to send faster.

Aspect Ratio 4:3, 16:9 - Aspect ratio is the ratio of the width of an image to its height. For example if the width of an image was 4 and the height of the image was 3, the aspect ratio of the image would be expressed as 4:3.

Frame Rates - A frame rate is the number of frames or images that are projected or displayed per second.
